About Us

Mission Statement

To shape the future of how Canadians improve fitness and enhance movement by combining the highest level of evidence based exercise, manual therapy and rehabilitation services to our customers.

The KIN Studio was never supposed to happen. In a time where heavily financed rehabilitation clinics and multi-million dollar gyms with rows of shiny equipment and valet parking dominated the Toronto health and fitness market, a young man with a strong heart and a clear vision was waking up every day at 4:45am to train clients and fold towels at a local gym because in his heart he believed one day he would give people more. His name was Alex Allan and after a decade of achievement, study, sacrifice and practical experience, he became a Registered Kinesiologist and suddenly the “more” he had dreamt about years earlier became apparent. Alex noticed that many of the clients who came to him with the goal of getting in shape also had previous injuries, and muscular imbalances in need of repair. They wanted to increase fitness, decrease pain and not get hurt in the process. The KIN studio was founded to balance these goals at the highest level possible. Our combination of advanced fitness expertise and complex injury management fills a huge gap in the Canadian wellness industry, right between personal training gyms and traditional physiotherapy clinics. 16 years later, The KIN Studio is alive and well, offering proof to the idea that success and positive change can be funded by many different types of currency.

Youth Athletic Development
KIN Sport (Youth Athletic Development)

At The KIN Studio we strive to satisfy both of these needs with our Youth Athletic development program. We start by correcting muscle imbalances and stabilizing the core. Then we increase flexibility and optimize movement.

KIN Sport - Phase 1: You are only as stable as your base.

Detailed musculo-skeletal and functional movement assessment leading to a corrective exercise program with a Registered Kinesiologist program length 4-6 weeks.

KIN Sport - Phase 2: Build on the base to win the race.

Development of an advanced sport specific strength and conditioning plan.

What Makes Us Unique

With thousands of personal trainers and physiotherapists in Toronto, making the right choice for your wellness needs can be daunting. If you are like most active people over the age of 25, your fitness training goals can be limited by aches, pain and injury. This can have you running from the trainer to the physio and back again with minimal communication between practitioners. If this is the case then the KIN Studio may be the best choice for you!

We integrate your fitness needs and rehab goals into one regulated hybrid service offered by the only Kinesiology focused clinic in Midtown Toronto. You can think of us as fitting in right between a personal trainer and a Physiotherapist on the health care spectrum. We are experts in human movement with advanced knowledge of both injury rehabilitation of and safe/intelligent fitness training. We are the only practitioners to have advanced skills in both these areas. We will go that extra mile to help you with your aches and pains and keep you fit and functional in the process
